Some Convictions

Some convictions which have come into my life with the entrance of Christian Science are the following:—

Willingness to "seek first the kingdom of God" protects man from being imposed upon and surely brings the needful things. Unwillingness and fear reverse this. This has been proved many times.

Self-condemnation is not always a humble thought but may be self-love carried to the point of self-destruction. It may lead one to condemn himself without courage, and cause him to think others are condemning him also, and this is an injustice to them as well as to himself. A false sense of God's man is already condemned. We have nothing to do with that but to know it. The Discoverer of Christian Science, the Rev. Mary Baker Eddy, has assured us on page 455 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" that, "The spiritually Scientific man reflects the divine law, thus becoming a law unto himself." Also on page 156, "Science reveals the possibility of every good achievement, and sets mortals at work to discover what God has already done." God, absolute Good, must be Perfection. Man, the reflection, image, of Perfection, cannot be imperfect.
