I had no intention of accepting Christian Science when I went to a healer last July for treatment, but I had heard of the cures wrought by it, and I wanted to be healed, no matter by what means it was done. I was suffering from several diseases, one of which had bound me for over six years, rendering me unable to attend to my household duties or to do much work of any kind. Beside this I had throat disease, stomach trouble, nervousness, weak eyes, and other troubles needless to mention. I have the kindest feelings for the physicians who did their best for me, but I never knew what it was to be well until I was healed by Christian Science.
I was under treatment only ten days, at the expiration of which time I was healed spiritually as well as physically. Just after my healing I lost my servant, and though I made repeated efforts to get another I could not do so. Then it dawned on me that divine Love was giving me this opportunity to prove I had been healed. I cooked, swept, shook rugs, and did the rest of my housework with the greatest ease and to the great astonishment of my neighbors. I am stronger than I ever was before, and am happy in my release from bondage and blindness.
I had been striving for spiritual growth for some time, but how ignorantly! I did not know how to read the Bible; now it unfolds itself to me in ever-increasing beauty. Truth has, indeed, set me free. I now know that error exists only in belief, and that God is All-in-all.
