Among the Churches
First Church of Christ, Scientist, of Rochester, N. Y., was organized April 4, 1894. Like many Christian Scientists, we had had our triumphs and defeats, and our congregation only numbered about seventy-five persons. Since then we have outgrown two halls, and are now occupying a large one in the Cox Building, prepared for us a little over a year ago. Most of the chairs are now filled Sunday morning and Wednesday evening.
The three lectures given in Rochester, two by Mr. Carol Norton of New York, and one by the Hon. William G. Ewing of Chicago, have been of great value to the progress of the work in our city. Through them many have learned that it is the very Truth they have so long been seeking.
Our Sunday School numbers about sixty-five pupils, and excellent work has been accomplished through it.
