A Pleasant Occasion

In the multiplicity of our labors we have thus far omitted to mention one of the pleasant events in connection with the recent annual gathering in Boston. We refer to the reception given to the visiting Scientists by Mr. and Mrs. Albert Metcalf at their beautiful home in West Newton, one of Boston's most attractive suburbs.

Their large residence and spacious grounds were placed wholly at the disposal of their guests, and when it is known that these numbered several hundred, the generosity and brotherly kindness manifested will be understood even by those who were not so fortunate as to be present.

We are sure our visiting brethren will carry away with them fond memories of this unusual exhibition of hospitality and fraternalism.

Another pleasant event was the reception tendered the visitors by Mr. James A. Neal at his pleasant rooms on Boylston Street.

These opportunities for friendly greeting and a better personal acquaintance, are cause for congratulation.
