A member of the Bible Lesson Committee, speaking for the committee as a whole, hands us the following explanation in answer to certain queries that have been made with reference to the Bible Lessons:—

In answer to inquiries from beginners in the study of the Lesson Sermon we repeat what has been heretofore stated.

While it is true that the Science and Health references, if carefully studied, are seen to elucidate the Bible references, it is not true that these references are chosen in every instance to parallel the Bible passages. The Bible does its part and the Science and Health quotations do their part in unfolding and enforcing the subject. Let it be remembered, then, that the Bible selections are not put down in one column and the Science and Health passages placed opposite them to explain their every detail. Taken together they form a complete discourse and fully expound the subject of the Sermon.
