Can See and Walk

Seven years ago I was healed through Christian Science by one of Mrs. Eddy's loyal students. I was bedfast for eight years, and could not open my eyes for five and a half years. I tried many physicians but all pronounced it a hopeless case, and said I would never walk again. Just as it seemed to me I would pass on we heard of Christian Science and sent for a healer. After three days' treatment I could open my eyes, and in a week's time I could sit in a chair; in four weeks I could walk everywhere; and in three months I was healed entirely.

I am studying Science and Health. I read the Journal and Sentinel which are a great benefit to me. I had the opportunity to go through a class one year ago last fall. This has made the way more clear, and not only helped me physically but has given me more light and understanding of the Bible, and has enabled me to demonstrate over many ills for myself and others.

I want to tell of a demonstration I had eight weeks ago. I had a fall and hurt my knee severely. Mortal mind wanted to make me believe it was broken. The second day it was swollen to twice its natural size and so discolored that my family became alarmed and wanted to call a doctor. I would not consent and said, "God can heal a broken knee as well as any other trouble." In a week I was able to walk and do light housework, and in four weeks I attended the Christian Science Student's Association twenty-six miles from home. I am the only Scientist here, but I know God is with me. I read the lesson with my family every Sunday. My daily prayer to God is that the good seed sown will bring fruit in due season.
