Distribution of Literature

What the Students' Christian Science Association, No. 39, of Minneapolis has been doing in the way of distributing literature this past year, may be of interest to the Field. Many of the students are not residents of Minneapolis, so we decided to send to the places represented by these nonresidents two dollar packages of literature for free distribution, that the attention of many who were strangers to it might be called to the blessed truth of Christian Science.

Twenty-six packages were thus sent out containing tracts, pamphlets, Sentinels, Journals, "Christian Science Healing," "People's Idea of God," "Rudimental Divine; Science," "No and Yes," etc. Besides this nine copies of Science and Health were donated variously to state penitentiaries, public libraries, military post libraries, the Associated Charities, etc. The Journal and the Sentinel have been sent to the county jail, the state penitentiary, an engine house of the fire department, and the post library at Fort Snelling. A State University library which had considerable call for something on the history of Christian Science, was furnished with "Retrospection and Introspection" and the pamphlets which contain historical material.

Other gifts of literature have also been made, and it is encouraging to know that the seed thus sown has already begun to bear fruit. This coming year we hope still further to "enlarge our borders" in doing similar work. Surely at the present time there are large opportunities in this direction, and in so doing we are helping to spread the knowledge of the "living God" throughout the land.
