Acknowledgment of Benefits Received
When only one of the ten lepers healed by Jesus, returned to give God thanks, the Master said, "Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine?" I am constrained to give expression to the facts concerning my healing so I may be accounted as one who can and is willing to glorify God for the manifold benefits received.
Business complications and a disturbed mental condition resulted in bodily ailments until I was considered a sick man. Materia medica, in extraordinary doses and in attenuations, was applied, and to my mind my condition was incurable. It was stated by physicians that I had every indication of diabetes, yet I was told that through dieting this trouble might be greatly relieved. All that winter the starchy and saccharine elements of food were denied me,—no potatoes, no bread, and little meat. After some months, no apparent improvement could be seen or felt, and in sheer desperation, a change was made to homœopathy, not, however, until I was compelled to take to my bed.
In the care of a conscientious homœopathic practitioner, improvement was soon plainly evident, as he immediately dispelled the fear of Bright's disease, at the same time putting me on a broader plane of privilege in diet and exercise.
