Severe Mental Affliction Healed
My first acquaintance with Christian Science was about two years ago. After many years of faithful service to the so-called laws of materia medica, worshiping also many man-made laws, I found nothing but dismay. The various diagnoses of my case made by physicians differed, some being too absurd to relate, and their directions as to diet were as various. Having a severe mental affliction at the time, it was feared they might have to take me to an insane asylum. Previous to this I had been at an institution for the treatment of nervous disorders, where I saw and heard many heart-rending scenes (of which none of my relations knew). I wanted to end my life at various times. I know now that God's hands were outstretched.
While in great distress I sought Christian Science in Phoenix, N. Y. After several weeks' treatment I obtained relief. I found I had severe struggles, but, thanks to God and the many dear Christian Scientists with whom I have come in contact, I gained more of the Truth. My healing was very slow, but many ills have disappeared: catarrh of the stomach, severe headaches, and internal troubles, also a severe attack of pleurisy.
My daughter, eleven years old, was wonderfully restored a short time ago from fever. She was delirious and scarcely able to raise herself, even for a moment.
