A Thanksgiving Letter
Portland, Ore., Thanksgiving Day, 1899.
Dear Sentinel :Although the daily life of a Christian Scientist holds a perpetual Thanksgiving, I cannot let the day which our nation marks pass by without expressing just a word of gratitude for Christian Science and what it is doing for humanity.
And what have Christian Scientists, more than others, to give thanks for? Not only the individual blessings of dear ones restored to health and strength, of sins and fears and sorrows subdued, of trials forgotten and victories gained, but the one mighty blessing which has come to this age, the Revelation of Truth to suffering humanity, the knowledge of God unfolding to man.
