A Letter from Mrs. Morgan

62 E. Logan St., Germantown, Pa.

Editorial Department of the Christian Science Publishing Society.

On reading the Sentinel of December 7, 1899, I was greatly grieved to find that there is still any questioning about Mrs. Eddy being in Germantown, and perhaps, when they learn from my own pen that what was reported in the Philadelphia Times, and other papers, is an utter falsehood, they will be satisfied. Neither Mr. Morgan nor myself ever had the privilege of meeting or seeing Mrs. Eddy, much to his regret and mine. She has never been in Germantown to my knowledge, and she never treated Mr. Morgan and never knew of his illness. I feel that it is only just that I should write to the Sentinel to correct this false statement, and if any one interested in Science, reads this, I hope it will be sufficient proof to them that what I say is true. There can be no doubt in the minds of Christian Scientists after what our dear Mother has said in regard to this matter, as we all know, and have known for years, that Mrs. Eddy has stated in her writings that she neither treats nor consults on disease. I want to say that although Mr. Morgan's case was not met, to him Christian Science was the Truth, and to me it is the Truth, and with God sustaining me I shall still go on with its beautiful teachings, and try to be faithful to God's prophet, who is the instrument in this age for this great work.
December 12, 1899. Mrs. J. P. Morgan.
