Francois Hollande, a Socialist who ran a centrist campaign, has won the presidency of France, defeating the conservative incumbent Nicolas Sarkozy. Hollande’s election could re-position France’s approach to the euro debt crisis, as Hollande said in his victory speech that austerity is no longer inevitable. Hollande favors leavening an austerity-only policy with economic growth fueled by government spending.

While there may seem to be many contending opinions for the best political and financial solutions to the euro debt crisis, prayer has the power to reveal an intelligent way forward that will bless everyone. “For unity in the Eurozone” shows how we can turn to God as the one “universal divine Mind of all” for inspired solutions.

Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the alleged mastermind of the 9/11 attacks, and four other co-defendants were brought before a US military judge Saturday for arraignment in what could become the most important US war crimes tribunal since Nuremberg. The trial, which is taking place under the military commission system at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, will be closely watched by the world to ensure evidence obtained from torture is left out of the courtroom and that the defendants receive a fair trial.
