Update: Potential solution to Chinese dissident case

After a tense week of US-China negotiations over the fate of Chen Guangcheng, a prominent Chinese legal activist who escaped his house arrest last week and fled to the US embassy in Beijing, relations may be warming between the two countries. China suggested a potential resolution to the diplomatic dust-up on Friday, saying that Chen could apply to study abroad, and an American university quickly offered him a fellowship, paving the way for Chen and his family to leave China safely and legally.
