Reading and listening to this article has given me a new and amazing sense of what prayer is. How fortunate! Thanks!

I loved your editorial for many reasons, but one is that I just finished a doctoral program on community volunteers working with the incarcerated and the impact on recidivism. It is so important to understand that everyone is redeemable—that those in prison are children of God, which can be seen by their warmth, intelligence, compassion, humor, persistence, and patience. And that healing is happening.

> Anne Melville, “Praying with confidence for your community,” April 27, 2026
I truly value Anne’s persistence in loving her community by changing her thought about something personal that happened to her, and including her entire community. Healing came in individual and communal redemption and service. This is a lovely example of divine Love in action, as prayer in application. Thank you!
