Praying for a friend at camp
At camp last summer, I noticed that one of my cabin mates, who was new, was feeling very homesick and wasn’t enjoying herself. I felt very sorry for her because camp is such an amazing experience and everyone should be able to enjoy all of the love and joy that are expressed at camp.
One night, I couldn’t sleep. My dad once told me that if I’m awake in the middle of the night and can’t fall asleep, then it’s an opportunity for me to pray. So I thought, “I should pray about this cabin mate.”
A few ideas I prayed with were ideas I’ve learned in Christian Science Sunday School. I know that God is taking care of everyone. I also know there is so much love being expressed at camp, and where love is, there’s no room for homesickness.
