Thank you for the Sentinel “Item of Interest,” “Bible translation gets a boost from 21st-century technology” (November 14, 2011 issue [“Prayer during global conflict”). 

I’ve been reading from this very new translation [Common English Bible] for a few months now, and I find it clear and heartfelt in so many passages. In sharing it with others, I’ve noticed its remarkable brevity of language without sacrificing the spiritual idea in the passage. My hope is that we will start seeing it used, along with other more contemporary translations, in the Golden Text and Responsive Reading of the Christian Science Bible Lessons.
