Healed of a uterine fibroid

First printed in El Heraldo de la Ciencia Cristiana, the Spanish edition of The Herald of Christian Science

Ever since I was a child I was interested in God and wanted to know where He came from. I became involved with many Christian and Eastern religions, but I was constantly moving on because none of them was able to answer my many questions.

After I became pregnant with my first son 12 years ago, a routine ultrasound revealed a fibroid attached to my uterus wall, which was causing me a lot of pain. I was told it would need to be removed surgically. When the time for delivery arrived, I had a caesarean birth, but the doctor did not operate on the fibroid. Four years later, after I became pregnant with my daughter, the tests showed that the fibroid was still there, although smaller. Around this time, someone gave me a copy of El Heraldo [Spanish Herald of Christian Science], which led me to start reading the book Science and Health.

The fibroid continued to give me pain, especially when I was menstruating, and eventually my husband and my mother insisted that I see a doctor about it. But I did not want to undergo any more surgeries, so I decided to give spiritual treatment a try, and I called a Christian Science practitioner to pray for me. At the same time, I reassured my family by telling them that I would have the operation if I had no results through prayer in Christian Science.
