LETTERS

The "timelessness" and "timeliness" of the Sentinel and its articles are such blessings. I always have a few copies with me while traveling. As I write this, I am on a long overseas flight. Before we even departed, the captain gave a long announcement about air turbulence, and made efforts to reassure the passengers that the airplane was strong enough to take a lot of stress. Then an hour into the flight, he came on again to tell everyone to buckle up and told all of the flight attendants to stow everything and buckle up, too, as we were heading into strong turbulence.

I was reading the Sentinel article "A strong foundation" by Judi Bell [May 1, 2006] at the time and felt such a sense of peace and calm. Her words were so reassuring: "All that proceeds from divine Principle is in perfect alignment with its surrounding, eternally held in its right place, fulfilling its God-ordained purpose." By the time I'd finished reading the whole issue, the seatbelt sign was off, and there had been no turbulence at all!

I like the new format and am finding it easier to share the Sentinel with people who are unfamiliar with Christian Science.
