A PERSISTENT RASH COULDN'T WITHSTAND THE LOVE OF GOD
This testimony first appeared on www.spirituality.com.
I'd had an unsightly red rash on my chest for years, and although it didn't show because it was under my clothing, it made me feel secretly unfeminine and ugly. Sometimes it became inflamed, sometimes it was less evident, but it would never go away. Sometimes it itched, but it mostly just looked bad. People close to me—college roommates, my sister, a nurse giving me a physical exam—commented on it, wondered what caused it, and offered their sympathy.
As time passed, I began to think of this skin condition as a part of myself. I chose shirts that hid the rash, and I tried to ignore it.
