Improve your swing—and a whole lot more

There's more to golf—and life—than putting around.

Ben Doyle is one of the world's most famous golf instructors. Based at the Quail Lodge in Carmel, California, Doyle has taught many of golf's great professionals, including Tom Kite, Johnny Miller, Curtis Strange, and Steve Elkington. In 1985, a struggling Bernhard Langer came to Doyle for help two months before the Masters. The next week Langer won his first green jacket. The majority of Doyle's clients, however, are amateurs who come to him from all corners of the globe.

Beside having a practical, no-nonsense approach to the game and a positive, nurturing teaching style, Doyle is also a Christian Scientist.

Recently Rick Lipsey, a golf writer at Sports Illustrated, spoke with Doyle about the intimate connection between his career as a golf instructor and his study of Christian Science.
