When my mother first began the study of Christian Science, a large goiter she had quickly dissolved. I was enrolled in a Christian Science Sunday School. Today I realize that the direction and protection with which I have been blessed for over fifty years have been the result of establishing fidelity to God as my top priority, which I learned to do in Sunday School.

Our family experienced a variety of healings after accepting the teachings of Christian Science. As a child I experienced severe sore throats that caused absenteeism from elementary school. The school doctors suggested to my parents that my tonsils should be removed. My parents prayed for me, and the prayerful help of a Christian Science practitioner was requested. Healing was quick and permanent.

While working in an office as a young woman, I began experiencing certain alarming symptoms of severe anemia. I asked a practitioner for help through prayer. Great spiritual growth and enrichment followed. The symptoms ceased. Simultaneously, the way opened to attend college—which I had dearly desired to do. Several years later, required tests during pregnancy indicated a healthy condition of blood.
