"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths" (Proverbs). I learned the truth of these verses many years ago. One evening a neighbor came to see me after she had returned from a trip. I didn't recognize her for a moment because she was so happy and vibrant. I remarked, "What happened to you?" But she said it wasn't the time to me.

A short time after our conversation I developed a cough. I did not pay too much attention to it until one day I coughed up blood. Then I got in touch with a doctor. As time passed condition became worse until an abscess burst in my lung. With the slightest movement the pain was unbearable, so I remained motionless in bed. I had no hope of recovery and dismissed the doctor.

The next morning my neighbor came by to see me. When she heard I had dismissed the doctor, she told me that while she'd been on her trip she had become ill and been told by a doctor to go to a hospital for an operation. But she had turned completely to God. Another woman had calmed her fears by telling her of God's love and care for His children in a way she had never heard before. She had been healed.
