FROM HAND TO HAND
The Sentinel is meant to be shared. In a world that is increasingly hungry for spiritual meaning, the Sentinel is vital food. Here's how our readers share it.*
"Four years ago, when I began volunteering in our Reading Room once a week, a neighbor offered to have my two preschoolers stay with her and her two children. During the time, she began to ask question about the Reading Room and consequently Christian Science. Her desire to know God better was genuine. As a thank-you to her for caring for my children, I gave her a yearlong gift subscription to the Sentinel, which she renewed after that each year on her own.
"Last year she moved several thousand miles away but we still correspond. I received a letter last week and, among other things, she wrote, '... I still subscribe to the Sentinel. The times when I'm reading it are the only calm seas in my life.'"
