Over the decades, letters that begin like this, from Nigerians to The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts, tell of a remarkable depth of spiritual hunger among the people of that land.

Known for the beauty of its terrain, the staggering profusion of its languages, and the deep spiritual responsiveness of its people, this most populous of African nations has a large and active Christian minority.
