How grateful I am for Christian Science and the healing influence...

How grateful I am for Christian Science and the healing influence it has had on me and on my family.

Some years ago I was employed as an instructor at a local horseback riding academy. One day I found myself facedown in the sawdust, having been kicked full force in the face by a usually well-behaved animal. The impact threw me some distance, and the physical injury I sustained was very extensive and quite alarming. But immediate comfort came with the realization of God's loving all-presence and of my true individuality as God's likeness—spiritual, indestructible, and eternal.

A Christian Science nurse cleaned and bandaged the wounds, while the prayers of a Christian Science practitioner embraced me so completely that the atmosphere was one of Christly calm, devoid of alarm or fear. With the help of the practitioner, and the care of the nurse, family members, and friends, my every need was attended to at my home; and I was fully healed. No surgical procedures were employed to set bones or repair torn flesh. Impaired vision was restored, and teeth were straightened without the aid of mechanical devices.
