Preserve your mental integrity
Suppose you were to read the Bible just for the purpose of discovering more about the nature of God. A very wide variety of terms would deepen your insights into the character of Deity. Mary Baker Eddy uses dozens of terms that she drew either directly or by implication from the Bible. To some of these, such as Spirit, Love, Mind, she gave very special prominence in her own writings.
Through divine revelation she perceived such terms as Mind to be synonymous with God. God is the source of all wisdom, the origin of true intelligence, the only basis for genuine understanding. "For the Lord giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding." Prov. 2:6. Here is one of many ways the Bible conveys a description of God as immortal Mind.
When the various hues of a rainbow come into view, we have something very practical—color, beauty, design. As we discern the hues of God, we find something very practical taking place. A broadened understanding of God results in the ability to heal difficulties that, in fact, are signaling an ignorance of His full nature.
