Home—a place to be yourself
Is your home a refuge, a place where warmth and affection abound? Do you feel free to be yourself, to say what's on your mind without fear of reprisal or condemnation? Honest answers to these questions will help us gauge where we stand in relation to Mrs. Eddy's conviction: "Home is the dearest spot on earth, and it should be the centre, though not the boundary, of the affections." Science and Health, p. 58.
The home where affection is warmly displayed, to friend and family alike, is blessed and a blessing. It serves as a forum for sharing and a haven from the cares of the world. But to experience this ideal, we must learn something of the spiritual qualities that are comprised in the "home" of God's creating.
Christian Science reveals the fact that home is actually a divine idea, an individual manifestation of God, divine Mind. As such, it is composed of infinite spiritual qualities. Purity, justice, inviolability, and spiritual love are all included. And the real home excludes discord of every kind.
