Nothing to erase
Before we can see/admire
floodlit, the polished
figure on the dais,
did not the sculptor work
patiently for many hours
to earn our praise?
Not condoning sin, which leaves
forbidden clay,
healing is art of molding—
in a way—
revealing the lovely form to take its place
floodlit with grace.
As the sculptor needs to chisel off
unwanted granite/stone,
shall we not seek to chip away our fear,
lifting eyes to see our brother's face—
redundance gone, and nothing to erase?
