There have been full proofs of the efficacy of Christian Science...

There have been full proofs of the efficacy of Christian Science in every department of my life. Mrs. Eddy writes in Science and Health (p. 300), "So far as the scientific statement as to man is understood, it can be proved and will bring to light the true reflection of God—the real man, or the new man (as St. Paul has it)." This sure means of working out one's salvation with present practical proof is, to me, the crowning glory of this Science. For the degree of regeneration thus far accomplished, I am most thankful.

Our children were born at home under Christian Science treatment, and with Christian Science nurses. In each case a doctor was found who was willing to come for the delivery. The first birth was painless, which amazed the attending physician at that time. The second delivery was quick but not quite as harmonious, which taught me the lesson that one cannot coast on a former demonstration.

I saw many problems met in the rearing of our two girls. The younger girl had an outstanding healing of ivy poisoning, which occurred when she was away at school. Some ivy had been burned on the school grounds, and all the children came down with aggravated cases. I could hardly recognize our daughter when she came home. In just a few days, through the prayerful treatment of a Christian Science practitioner, the swelling and inflammation disappeared, except for one small spot on her arm. The handling of fear and the refuting of false material law, accompanied by radical reliance on God, brought about this quick release from suffering and discomfort. She went back to school. Although it appeared the spot was going to cause further difficulties, this too was quickly healed.
