Purity: source of strength
A metallurgist explained that some metals can be treated in the laboratory to approach absolute purity. As they come near 100 percent purity, significant increases in their strength frequently occur.
Similarly, in the measure we purify our thought we are able to eliminate the dross of material concepts, which produce weakness in the form of sickness and sin.
Our laboratory for purifying thought is prayer. Daily, through affirming the purity of our being as God's outcome and denying the false mortal concept of ourselves, we are strengthened by deepening our spiritual understanding of man as the uncontaminated, ideal reflection of God. Of course, it's vital that we conform our thoughts and actions to this truth. Mrs. Eddy writes in the Christian Science textbook, "In proportion to his purity is man perfect. ..."
