I have learned that a heart full of gratitude has no room for anything unlike God, good. Through the way of life that Christian Science teaches, I have come to understand God's love and how much this love protects, guards, governs, and heals us. I want to share how well I was protected and healed on one occasion.

One morning while I was starting a tractor motor, I had to use jumper cables to connect the battery in my car to the one in the tractor, to start the motor. My car was parked near and parallel to the tractor. I turned on the switch and pressed the starter button with my thumb. The motor started and so did the tractor, which began to move forward. I was next to the rear wheel and the large cleat on the wheel caught the heel of my boot and forced me to the ground, then rolled over me from heel to shoulder.

The remarkable protection was this: by the time the large leveling blade, which was attached to the rear of the tractor, came to where I was on the ground, the hydraulic lift had raised the leveling blade high enough to clear me. The hydraulic lift control lever was not touched by anyone while all this was happening. When I awoke, the tractor was going around in circles but not near me. Although I was bruised and cut, I awoke with the grateful thought, "Thank you, God, for loving and for taking care of me."
