I am grateful that Christian Science protects as well as heals

I am grateful that Christian Science protects as well as heals. Last year I had quick healings of colds and of not being able to breathe freely. My mom read Hymn No. 144 to me from the Christian Science Hymnal. It says: "In atmosphere of Love divine, /We live, and move, and breathe." We prayed over this and saw that man is not a mortal trying to breathe, but a spiritual idea reflecting right activity. I was healed.

Last year we moved to a new house and I went to a new school. I didn't like going, and for about the first week I felt sick every morning and would stay home or be sent home by the school. My mom and I talked about Daniel in the lions' den, and how we could face fear and conquer it. We also talked about David running to meet Goliath, not running from the enemy. Hymn No. 148 says: "In heavenly Love abiding, /No change my heart shall fear." Very soon I was happy to go to school, and I made some new friends.

Last summer I was protected from the mumps that everyone said I would get. I stayed well instead. My mom, my littlest brother, and I were protected in a car accident also. No one was hurt.
