INTO LIGHT
When one looks back and wonders by what chance
Events took place—why one went here, not there,
Did that, not this—could choice or circumstance
Or locust years remodel character?
Was not the pattern laid, the purpose there,
Emerging slowly until clearly seen?
But seen most closely when in earnest prayer
One sought to know God's will, His purpose glean.
As Noah came to rest on Ararat,
Releasing tender charges with a sigh
Of heartfelt joy and praise, so answers thought
to God's "Go forth...be fruitful...multiply."
Leave doubt and darkness for the light of day—
Hearing a word behind you—this is the way.
