Surviving a Divorce

There is no need to fear the future—the prospect of loneliness and hopelessness—if, apparently through no fault of your own, it becomes necessary to go through a divorce. You can take heart because this mortal picture of heartbreak, lack, family disruption, and children separated from parents is a counterfeit. The spiritual fact is stability and harmony, and through the study of Christian Science you can find a way out of the discordant situation.

Because God is Spirit and His universe is His reflection, man, His image, is wholly spiritual. Man is always intact, never separated from any good. His home is never broken. A broken home can only be a mortal belief about mortals. Man is the always-loved and cared-for child of a loving Father-Mother, sustained and maintained spiritually by Him.

Strengthened by prayer in Christian Science, whatever the human circumstances, you can go forward and expect freedom and fulfillment. You can feel the comforting sense of the Father's love and gain a better sense of unity with Him. You can experience peace, satisfaction, and even joy. Because spiritual facts are under the law of God—a spiritual law—they act as annihilation to anything unlike good. Learning of God's allness and ever-presence, you will find the sense of abandonment and hopelessness diminishing in your thought until it fades entirely.
