I wish to express my gratitude for the greatest blessing of my life, Christian Science.

Several years ago I was informed by our son's sixth-grade teacher that our son had been removed from the school band for disciplinary reasons, and that it appeared he would also be removed from the classroom. After hearing of all the behavior problems our son was presenting, I returned home, praying to God to be guided what to do. Our son was a pupil in a Christian Science Sunday School, and so in discussing the situation with him I spoke of the qualities he expressed as God's idea—qualities of obedience, kindness, love, intelligence, and right activity. I also reminded him of the importance of courtesy and cooperation. Nothing more was said to him about the situation.

I prayed each day to see more of the nature of the Christ in everyone. I began to learn more of the man of God's creating and to know that every idea is a child of God, expressing a nature that is completely good because it is created, sustained, and maintained by God. Each idea always has functioned and always will function under the divine law of Love, and it is impossible for any idea to lapse from or be separated from this law. So no idea could ever be out of control or manifest any characteristics that are not reflected from Soul and are not the manifestation of true, spiritual individuality. The references dealing with Mind and control in Mrs. Eddy's writings were very helpful, especially one in Science and Health (p. 151): "Every function of the real man is governed by the divine Mind. The human mind has no power to kill or to cure, and it has no control over God's man. The divine Mind that made man maintains His own image and likeness." I became absolutely convinced that God was in control and that man was totally obedient to God.
