"By many infallible proofs"

Remembering previous demonstrations in the application of Christian Science can be an aid to healing. If the healing we expect is not instantaneous, or if our efforts are met by resistance from general opinion or the doubts of those close to us, we can go forward reassured by our earlier proofs of God's power and love.

Jesus' teachings were accompanied by a continuous flow of healings. The Bible makes it clear that Jesus looked upon these works as proofs that what he taught was the truth. When John the Baptist sent disciples to Jesus to ask if he was the Christ, Jesus said: "Go your way, and tell John what things ye have seen and heard; how that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached. And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offened in me."^{Luke 7:22, 23;}

All these proofs were a strength to Jesus' followers in spreading the gospel. And these followers, too, demonstrated the teaching by the many healings they performed, including raising the dead. They knew they were not preaching some new philosophy or creed. They were preaching Christ; the Christ-power was demonstrable by them and capable of being demonstrated by their hearers.
