Though I learned of Christian Science when I was fifteen and enjoyed Sunday School attendance, I did not seriously study Christian Science until after my second marriage. It was then I joined The Mother Church and a branch Church of Christ, Scientist.
When I was with child and was examined by a doctor, it was found that I had a tumor, which two physicians said must be removed immediately. They said that I must accept the fact that I would lose the child; but if I did not submit to an operation, I would greatly endanger my own life as well. They gave no hope that I could have the child. With this verdict I first said I would have the operation. However, at home I talked with my husband and we agreed I should call a Christian Science practitioner. This I did, and the doctor was dismissed. I had no operation.
