This expression of gratitude is long overdue for the blessings that have come to me through Christian Science.

Many years ago while our family were on vacation many miles from home, one of the children developed what was called "summer complaint." We were new in Christian Science and we telephoned a Christian Science practitioner. She told us to read from Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy (p. 495): "When the illusion of sickness or sin tempts you, cling steadfastly to God and His idea. Allow nothing but His likeness to abide in your thought." We then repeated the Lord's Prayer. Our own effort, supported by the prayer of the practitioner, was effective. The healing was instantaneous.

Some months ago I fell down a flight of stairs and received two deep wounds on my ankle. I called a practitioner for treatment. Although the healing was not immediate, it was complete. Recently, upon rising in the morning I was unable to keep my balance. Although I was not dizzy or light-headed, I could not stay on my feet. A practitioner was called. She reminded me of God's supreme control and spoke of the perfect love that casts out fear. The healing was instantaneous and has been permanent.
