Scientific Decision-making

Rightly viewed, activity is the unfoldment of divine Mind. Divine Mind is God, the one and only creative, vitalizing force. Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, writes, "Infinite Mind creates and governs all, from the mental molecule to infinity." Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 507; Man is the idea of Mind, the image or reflection of God. As reflection, man has not an action or thought that does not come from God.

This spiritual fact can be specifically applied in our lives. Most of us need to make many decisions each day. And at different periods we are faced with major decisions concerning our future. Rather than viewing decisions apprehensively, we can accept them as opportunities to witness the government of divine Mind.

Christ Jesus stated that the great commandment was to love God with all our heart and soul and mind (see Matt. 22:37, 38). To love God with total spiritual commitment frees us from fear, uncertainty, and human will. If we're obedient to this demand, we can perceive our unity with God as His perfect idea. We can begin to realize the harmonious government and order of His universe. In truth, our lives are under the guidance of divine Mind. Our place is established in God, and it is spiritual.
