Clearing Our Vision

The evidence of the material senses provides us with no stability or security. Looked at through these senses, the world largely presents a picture of confusion. But this evidence has, in reality, not one particle of truth, not one vestige of power, and not one atom of substance. It has no more power or influence than we give it by mistakenly accepting it into our thought as a true record.

To demonstrate our ability to nullify pictures of confusion, danger, hostility, we need to see beyond the evidence of the material senses to the spiritual facts of God and man, revealed by spiritual sense. True vision is the ability to spiritually discern what is real, and this insight is ours to claim right now. God is all-knowing, all-seeing, all-acting, and we are, in truth, His perfect reflection. The more sincerely we live in accord with this true selfhood, the more we will see what is true, hear what is true, and thereby bring healing wherever it is needed.

Our vision of ourselves is not always spiritually clear. We may see ourselves as sick, frustrated, or depressed, and then we may enviously look at our friends and see them as joyful, loving, orderly. Who told us negative qualities are ours, something we just have to live with? Mortal mind, the claim of more than one God. But mortal mind is a falsity, entirely unreal. God is the only Mind; and we have to live only with what this Mind tells us.
