In two testimonies published in the Sentinel I related healings of spinal arthritis, fear of speaking in public, and the smoking habit. Now it is time I expressed my gratitude for solving through Christian Science a business problem that looked hopeless.

I was one of four owners of a twenty-four-unit apartment complex. Due to a reduction in the work force in our area by over one half, what had been a full occupancy of the apartments was reduced to 50 percent. One partner had passed on, and his financial interest was then in his estate. The trustees of his estate would not put any new money into the project and would not participate in any deficit financing. We were faced with foreclosure if we missed one more payment on our loan, and were told that refinancing or extension of payments would not be considered. Our receipts were three hundred dollars per month less than operating expenses, and the property was deteriorating.

At this point my wife and I prayed in Science from the standpoint that we had had right motives from its inception. Housing in the area had been desperately needed at the time. Mrs. Eddy says (Science and Health, p. 326), "Working and praying with true motives, your Father will open the way." We felt certain of this, and that God's law of justice would work out any problem harmoniously for all because (ibid., p. 449) "right adjusts the balance sooner or later."
