I was raised in Christian Science, had had many healings, and heard people speak of how they were regenerated, but until recently I never really understood what they meant. Then through a series of events, I experienced this regenerating Christ, Truth, for myself. I am grateful to my mother for enrolling me in the Christian Science Sunday School at the earliest possible age. This firm foundation proved an unfailing source of strength to me.

In 1971 my husband accepted employment in Colorado; not wanting to leave my home I felt bitter and resentful about the move. Due to some uncollectable debts and bad business decisions, our finances were in poor shape, and our marriage appeared to be failing. My whole world seemed to be crumbling around me. In our new home, instead of improvement, things became worse than ever. The company my husband worked for went out of business after five months and he was left without a job. We were barely able to pay our rent and buy food and were advised to file in bankruptcy. The final blow came when my health was affected. I was having such severe pains in my arms and legs that some nights I could not sleep.

We sought human advice to solve our financial and marital problems, but ran into blank walls. For this I am now grateful because we were forced to turn to God with complete trust. Many lessons had to be learned, first that God is the only source of supply and happiness. We called on a Christian Science practitioner who pointed out that Principle, the source of true abundance, can never be exhausted. With this realization the healing process began.
