I very much appreciate that in an article in [a previous] issue, the [author] was sincerely trying to provide your readers with accurate information about Christian Science. He will be sorry to learn, however, that he was very poorly served by his source material.
After many years' search for an understanding of the way in which Christ Jesus healed, Mary Baker Eddy discovered Christian Science in 1866. Careful study shows that its God-centred teachings and method of healing through prayer stand in sharp contrast to the theories and suggestion techniques of Phineas Quimby, which bear no relationship to Mrs. Eddy's spiritual discovery.
