My first introduction to Christian Science was through my son

My first introduction to Christian Science was through my son. A few years ago he emigrated to Canada. He returned home quite unexpectedly and found us in the midst of family trouble. He talked to me of Christian Science and I listened, and that night I slept for the first time in months.

After he returned to Canada, I visited the local Christian Science Reading Room and had a wonderful talk with the librarian, who gave me some literature to read. I began to attend the Christian Science church services, and since then my life has opened out into wonderful harmony. The family trouble dissolved. Our financial situation changed, becoming more abundant so that I have been to America to visit The Mother Church and my son. We subscribe for all the Christian Science periodicals, including The Christian Science Monitor.

One of my first healings was of the smoking habit. Headaches from which I used to suffer a lot have disappeared altogether. There were almost instantaneous healings of a badly twisted ankle and two dislocated fingers. The fingers went back into place as I repeated "the scientific statement of being" from Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. Some of the words are (p. 468): "All is infinite Mind and its infinite manifestation, for God is All-in-all." Ten minutes after I called a Christian Science practitioner for help to dispel the pain, it left me and did not return.
