Inherit the Kingdom

To receive an inheritance, an heir must establish his identity and claim what has been given him. In like manner, if we would inherit the heavenly kingdom prepared for us by our creator, we need to learn, and to establish in consciousness, our true identity as a child of our Father-Mother God, and claim our inheritance of life, intelligence, right activity—every quality of God.

Our Saviour, Christ Jesus, spoke of the Supreme Being as Spirit. The entire creation of Spirit, including man, is spiritual, not material. Christian Science teaches that heaven is an entirely harmonious, spiritual state of consciousness, which Jesus said is at hand and within you. Mrs. Eddy defines the "Kingdom of Heaven" as "the reign of harmony in divine Science; the realm of unerring, eternal, and omnipotent Mind; the atmosphere of Spirit, where Soul is supreme."^{Science and Health, p. 590;} What a wonderful inheritance!

The Scriptures declare, "I am the Lord, and there is none else."^{Isa. 45:5;} Accepting the truth of God's allness, we can reason that His spiritual kingdom must be ever present, always at hand. Since this kingdom is a state of consciousness, and since God is the only Mind, man, who is an idea of divine Mind, lives in the kingdom of Spirit. Mortal mind, the belief in a mind separate from God, would deny this truth. That is why our Way-shower told us to repent, change our thinking and acting. We need to know, love, and live the spiritual truths of man, which free us from the false material beliefs about man.
