Mrs. Eddy states in the Preface of the textbook, Science and Health (p. vii): "To those leaning on the sustaining infinite, today is big with blessings." My heart overflows with gratitude each day of my life for the many benefits, blessings, and protection received through the study of Christian Science for almost sixty years.

In 1916, my mother was healed of tuberculosis. At that time the family physician and a specialist told my father that she had only a few months to live. During this time a Christian Science practitioner had moved next door to my mother's sister, who lived in another city, and this sister asked the practitioner if my mother could be healed. The answer was in the affirmative.

Very soon this aunt came to see my mother, bringing with her a copy of Science and Health. She placed this book in my mother's hands and propped her up in bed so she could read. After reading the first chapter on Prayer my mother said, "This is what I have been searching for all my life." In a period of ten days she was up and able to go home with her sister, where she stayed for two weeks. When she returned home, she was well and strong.
