The Divine Architecture of Home

Looking for an apartment? Or a house? One that is a real home—as beautiful in design as it is comfortable, practical, and filled with an abundance of good? Then the best architect for you is God, Mind. Mrs. Eddy affirms Mind's role as architect in her Miscellaneous Writings: "Mind is the architect that builds its own idea, and produces all harmony that appears." Mis., p. 41;

Where does the building of our new house begin when Mind is the architect? In consciousness, of course. The Bible tells us plainly that for our house to be secure it must be grounded on a rock. This rock is the Christ—the true, spiritual idea of God—recognized, loved, and obeyed in our lives.

Christ Jesus in his parable of the two men, one who built his house on the sand and the other who built his house on a rock, underlined the importance not only of hearing the truths he taught and demonstrated but also of living these truths consistently. As you will recall in the parable, when the rains came and the winds blew, only one house remained—that one which had been built on the rock, Christ. Thus our building begins with uplifting the true, spiritual idea of home in our daily lives.
