As a child all of my problems, including colds and measles, were solved in Science. When I was in high school, a stubborn case of what was diagnosed as jaundice was finally healed by my persistent holding to the fact that nerves cannot cause a disorder, and especially helpful was this statement in Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy (pp. 427—428): '"There is no death, no inaction, diseased action, overaction, nor reaction.'" There were times when I felt not only uncomfortable and in pain but discouraged. By thoughtfully reading that statement again and again, one morning I finally awakened relaxed and at peace, and was well.
My aunt, with whom I lived, said I was healed of diphtheria overnight by the prayerful help of a Christian Science practitioner and my aunt's knowing that the fear of an epidemic, even if held by many, is powerless.
After marriage we had four sons. All the births were painless. Christian Science is a wonderful help in raising children, healing any illness presented, and in solving school problems.
