This is a long overdue expression of gratitude for the many, many wonderful proofs of God's goodness in leading me to the truth as revealed in Christian Science. I have had so many healings and proofs of protection that space does not permit to tell all of them.

I would like to share one outstanding healing, which occurred early in my married life. I became pregnant and had many alarming symptoms. I did not want to go to a hospital for the birth, so I consulted a Christian Science nurse. She said she knew a doctor who was very kindly disposed toward Christian Science, and advised me to consult him (since it is required by law in my home State to have a doctor in attendance at a birth).

The nurse gave me the doctor's address, and my husband took me there one evening. We did not know there were two doctors, each having the same surname, having their offices in the same block of the same street. It was dark, and we didn't notice a difference of initials, so we entered the first doctor's office. He seemed not to know anything about the nurse, but proceeded to make an examination. He informed us there were three fibroid tumors, a large one being directly in the path of the child. He expressed great doubt that the pregnancy would continue, but he said that if it did, the child would not be normal and might be crippled. This was a shocking statement!
