Thanking the Father

One morning a small child woke up screaming in pain. His mother and father, who were staying at a motel for a few days, prayed earnestly, but his crying continued.

A friend was called for help in Christian Science. As she talked with the mother, she could hear the child's cries of discomfort and asked that he be brought to the phone. An inspiration from divine Mind prompted her to say, "Kris, dear, I want you to repeat something after me." Through his tears he repeated in his baby voice, "Thank You, God, for making me perfect."

As the friend turned away from the phone, she continued to know the perfection of God's child and the nothingness of evil calling itself pain. In about ten minutes the mother called to say that Kris was fine and was playing happily.
